Winterization - That time of year is upon us again.  Proper winterization can prolong the life of your recreation vehicle and reduce costly repair bills.  South Lakesis not in the business of winterizing vehicles, but we want to do everything we can to provide a quality facility for your vehicle storage.  That is why we have made arrangements with R.V. System Solutions and Brian’s ATV to provide a certified technician who will be offering winterizing services for your vehicle.  Why have your Jet Ski, boat, or RV winterized while at South Lakes ?  Simple – convenience for you plus savings.  You won’t have to haul or drive your vehicle to some service center, and sit and wait on a “First Come, First Serve” basis.  Any additional repairs noted during the winterization can be accomplished without interrupting your schedule for a return trip to a service facility.  A certified technician will be performing the work and will be available to answer any questions you might have. 

For work performed by Mac with R.V. System Solutions;

1. Boat Winterization
1. Stern Drives and Inboards - $190.00

                                                              i.      Drain water from engine block

                                                            ii.      Check belts and hoses

                                                          iii.      Check lower gear case for water in gear lube

                                                          iv.      Grease fittings on both drive and engine to displace water

                                                            v.      Treat fuel with stabilizer, which preserves fuel

                                                          vi.      Fill cooling system with “pink bio-degradable” anti-freeze

                                                        vii.      Grease “Bearing Buddies” if installed on trailer

                                                      viii.      Remove negative cable from battery to prevent discharge

                                                          ix.      Check and correct air pressure in trailer tires

2. Outboards - $95.00

                                                              i.      Treat fuel with stabilizer, which preserves fuel

                                                            ii.      Check lower gear case for water in gear lube

                                                          iii.      Grease fittings to displace water

                                                          iv.      Spray steering cable linkages to lubricate

                                                            v.      Remove negative battery cable to prevent discharge

                                                          vi.      Grease “Bearing Buddies: if installed on trailer

                                                        vii.      Check and correct tire pressure in trailer tires

 

2. RV Winterization
1. Travel Trailers and 5^th Wheels - $105.00

                                                              i.      Open low point drains and blow lines free of water

                                                            ii.      Drain hot water tank and flush mineral deposits

                                                          iii.      Remove anode rod from water heater to inspect

                                                          iv.      Drain any under sink water filters

                                                            v.      Drain refrigerator ice maker

                                                          vi.      Drain fresh water tank

                                                        vii.      Drain washer/dryer pump

                                                      viii.      Dump residual moisture from holding tanks

                                                          ix.      Pump “pink bio-degradable” anti-freeze into fresh water distribution system

                                                            x.      Introduce anti-freeze into drain traps and toilet

                                                          xi.      Shut off propane supply

                                                        xii.      Spray suspension fittings and grease fittings to lubricate

                                                      xiii.      Grease “Bearing Buddies” if installed on trailer

                                                      xiv.      Check and correct tire pressure

2. Motor Homes - $165.00

                                                              i.      Open low point drains and blow lines free of water

                                                            ii.      Drain hot water tank and flush mineral deposits

                                                  xviii.      Inspect for fluid leaks

 

For Boat and RV Winterization - please click on this LINK, print out the PDF form, and fill it out.  All work must be pre-paid.  You will need to drop off the form, keys, and payment check in the white drop/ mail box (mounted on truck wheel and post) IMMEDIATELY to the north of the new awning that covers the entry gate.  Please use this drop box. Mac will try to keep additional forms here also.

Do NOT use the drop box by the door of the utility closet for winterization needs. It is strictly a drop for storage rent checks. Please do not attempt to drop off your keys or forms to the current occupants of the front building, “The Trailer Place”.  They are not associated with the winterization project, but are an excellent place to take your vehicle for any brake or suspension issues.    

Please note that depending on the work chosen your unit may be accomplished in phases.  R.V. System Solutions will not be responsible for any freeze damage resulting from lack of work order being filled out less than 72 hours before the first recorded freeze, excluding weekends.  You will be called at the completion of the work.    

You MUST call Mac at 405 314 1697 after completing above requirements and/or to request any additional work, to secure getting on the schedule. Drop box is not checked daily.
